You'll never know how pleased I am to know that such a far-reaching visit by local officials at that corner had NOTHING to do with Lon's decrepit lodgings. Some day that's gonna be a valuable piece of property...long after you've moved and the ground has been hallowed following razing.
Did you ever notice how many hideous car accidents involving ripped drivers find the cars destroyed and the culprits simply foggy? I'm shocked but relieved that the wreckage on the property was only mechanical. And you guys DEFINITELY sleep soundly! Another benefit my Grand dog offers by her presence.
Just got the brownies out of the oven and the steaks in the frig. Great salad fixin's await along with other treats. Every huge appliance we own is in action right now. By noon Fred and Kirk will be here until Wednesday morning. We can do this. At least I can smoke a cigarette on our trip into Elberta Tuesday to vote. Maybe a whole pack. The lines might be long.
Stopped and visited with Bob and Karen this afternoon on our way to the grocery store. They prefer to invite guests rather than have them drop in and I'm pretty much the same way. Best foot forward sort of thing. They're just up the road and we had some books to retrieve that we'd wanted to show Fred.
The weekend of the 15th through the 19th will be fun. We've got lots of visiting to do. We're meeting Juana and her old friend Doug at the Buckley Small Engine Show that Juana and Jim always went to. It's also her birthday, 'tho she, of course, didn't mention that part. They'll come over here a second day for food and visiting. Also got the Frankfort Art Show and time with Lee, Janey, Jean and Jean's Grandson. Doesn't get any better than company!
Well, got to go see if the rugs I've waited a year to wash are finally dry. I even cleaned a year's worth of Tigger fur off the blanket on the futon in the living room. This is as close to anal cleaning as I'm getting.
Lots of love. Blog your support! Ma
